This week was jammed pack with a bunch of great stuff so I'm just going to do bullets since it's easier for me.

• -We went on splits with the missionaries in the field yesterday! So we were able to do about a half day of missionary work in the field and I loved it! I was with 2 hermanas, one from Utah and the other from Peru. We had 2 appointments and the rest of the time we spent contacting. It was great because I was able to follow what was said in the lessons most of the time. The only frustrating thing is that I can't always express myself the way I want to, but I'm trying to have patience! I was able to recite the First Vision, bear my testimony, and pray all in Spanish in both of the lessons, so that was great! It was crazy to be in the city and see all the poverty there. There were people living in alley ways with nothing, but they are still so happy because they have their family and their faith in God. These people are such good examples to me of what's really important in life! There were also a ton of street vendors selling all kinds of amazing food so the hermanas took me to them to try some street food. I had freshly made guava juice (so refreshing and amazing) and a churro filled with dulce de leche (I basically died and went to Heaven)! I loved the field and it made me more excited to leave the CCM and get to my mission!
• -My companions and I are the new STL's for the CCM, so we've gotten to know the other hermanas really well, which is such a blessing! All 8 of us are so close, it's super fun. One of the responsibilities that comes with being an STL is that I get to choose the music we sing on Sunday's and at devotionals, which I've always wanted to do, and it's one of my favorite parts of the calling!
• -Every week for church, the missionaries are given a topic and we each have to prepare a talk in our mission language and then during Sacrament Meeting, President Gulbrandsen calls on random people to give their talks. Well this week, he called on me to speak about enduring to the end! So I gave my talk that I had prepared in Spanish...I was so nervous! But I pronounced all the words right and said what I wanted to say, so I think it was a success! This Sunday, my district is singing in Sacrament Meeting. We're going to sing We'll Bring the World His Truth but in Spanish, so that will be super fun!
• -This week our devotional was from Elder Zivic who is a member of the Seventy! He is from Argentina and was visiting the CCM. He spoke about the importance of being obedient missionaries and also about how the promises to be with His servants. He shared John 15:7 and said that if we abide in the Savior, He will always be there to lift us up, answer our prayers, and grant us what we need. It's a really cool promise! After he spoke, we each got to meet him and shake his hand! I was super nervous because I had to introduce myself in Spanish, but it went well and it was a super cool experience. He and his wife were very nice!
• -We went to the store this week for the last time while we are the CCM so I had to stock up on Dino cookies. Dino cookies are a gift from Heaven. They're only in the Dominican Republic and they're kind of like Oreos but they have a lot of different flavors and I think they're way better than Oreos. I wanted to make sure that I would have enough to last me the rest of my time at the CCM and a little bit into the mission field, so I bought a lot...30 packs (don't worry, they're individual packs and I know how to control myself). Yeah, it's a problem! My district thinks I'm insane because I love Dino cookies so much!
